take a photo in Las Vegas. The sign is a was designed by Betty
Willis, a local salesman, and been a landmark on the Las Vegas
strip since 1959.
The sign is about four miles from actual city limits of Las
Vegas but most tourist consider the length of Las Vegas Blvd
to be part of the city. next to the sign is a small packing
lot with 12 spaces, including two handicapped spots and two
places for buses on the median adjacent to the lot.
The sign reads “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada”
on the front and “Come Back Soon” on the back. So
you can take two different pictures of the sign depending on
your point of view.
The iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas neon sign is a must
to see when in town. Day or night, the sign is good for picture-taking.
If you are lucky you can park and take a picture right away.
Sometime you might have to wait 20 minutes especially if a tour
bus has pulled up before you.
