Las Vegas Monorail System

Las Vegas Monorail runs along a four mile route above the streets along the the Las Vegas Strip. There are seven stations: MGM Grand, Bally's/Paris Las Vegas, Flamingo/Caesars Palace, Harrah's/Imperial Palace, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas Hilton and Sahara. Traffic along the Las Vegas Strip is painfully slow, pedestrians can almost keep up with the line of cars. When you ride the monorail you will speed along at up to 50 miles an hour in air conditioned comfort.

The Las vegas Monorail is the first driverless public monorail system in the world. Traveling the four miles takes about 15 minutes, a considerable time saving over driving or walking. The Las Vegas Monorail Company is planning stages of a proposed expansion to McCarran International Airport, which would help deliver Las Vegas visitors from the airport to their vacation destinations. IF you are planning on staying at one of the hotels with it's own station the monorail is a great way to get around Vegas.

Las Vegas Monorail hours of operation: 7:00 A.M. to 2:00 A.M. Monday thru Thursday. 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 A.M. Friday thru Sunday. You can buy one way tickets however the best deal is to buy an all day pass. The monorail is a great way to travel along the strip and is far less crowded than the double decker busses. One drawback to riding the monorail is that the stations are all at the back of the casinos leaving riders a long walk to get back up to the action along the Las Vegas strip.
