The Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum located in McCarran International Airport. Visitors can discover the history of commercial and general aviation in southern Nevada, from the first flight in 1920 through the introduction of jets.

The Museum's main exhibit is located in baggage claim with additional exhibits in ticketing, at the A, B, C and D gates, Terminal 2, North Las Vegas Air Terminal and the general and corporate aviation terminal operated by Signature Flight Support.

There are more than 30 display cases as well as a brief video presentation that chronicles both local aviation hisotry and the significant happenings that occured to aviation in Las Vegas.

There is also an exhibit displayed at Henderson Executive Airport. Aviation buffs can park south of the airport on Sunset Road and tune their FM radios to 88.5 to follow the conversations between the pilots and flight controllers during take-offs and landings

Mark Hall-Patton has been the Museum Administrator for the Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum since December 1993. He has spoken to many state, regional, and national museum and history organizations on subjects relating to the care and feeding of museums, as well as local and regional history topics.

He is a published author of one book, over 400 newspaper and magazine articles, and the writer and producer of 48 local history videos. His education includes a B.A. in History from the University of California at Irvine, and graduate work in Museology at the University of Delaware.
